 Results:
1. What is your gender?
Male
Female

The reason for looking at the gender of who answered my questionnaire is because the gender will influence the way that the final project will be created. Furthering on this idea is because Male and Female see things differently, it may mean that the results could turn out very different to how it will be expected. The chart shows the equal ratio of Female's to Male's that answered the questionnaire. This suggests that the final project will also be aimed at any gender. This allows me to see that it can not be biased to any specific gender.

2. What is your age?

The next question is the age of who I asked. By looking at these results it allows me to see what age people would be if they were to watch the opening of this thriller. Adding on to this it is indicating the idea of what sort of things I am able to include within my thriller. As the age range is a lot higher it is suggesting the ability to cope with more adult themes, however I wouldn't add really crazy things because it would be too much for the opening to handle.

3. What gender should the antagonist be?
Male
Female

|||||||

The next question was a lot more important than the other two because this will change the whole opening depending on what people chose. The female gender is a rare chose to be one of the leads as it is usually a male as they are better at portraying these types of characters. However, if people prefer a female then I will try to go with what the audience will prefer as it is what they are wanting to watch, not my opinion. Adding onto this the idea allows the narrowing down of what the story line, characters and location will be.

4. Where shall the opening sequence be set?
Park/Woods
House
Garage

The location of the opening sequence is a big deal as it will make the whole opening. The reason for thinking this is because the location is used to set the scene and what ever the character is doing, it will add the feel of it being realistic. Furthering on this idea the three locations chosen are the ones that are commonly used for a thriller, so I thought I would go along with this idea as well. This gives the audience the automatic idea of the genre and makes it feel like it is a part of the genre. For example using a haunted house would fit well with a horror whereas using  just a normal location makes the opening become a thriller because people will ask questions when they are wondering what is going on.

5. Do you enjoy the genre Thriller?
Yes
No

The next question was asked out of curiosity and to allow me to know if people actually like the genre thriller. By doing this it makes me have the knowledge that people may be bored of all the similar things and that I could do something very different instead. Furthering on this also gave me a wider knowledge on the people that I asked by this very simple question.
6. If yes, What is your favourite or last thriller that you watched?
- Fight Club
- Nerve
- Gone Girl
- Casino Royale
- The Hunger Games

7. What shall the narrative be about?

Day to day life
Chase scene
Flashbacks

The story line is what will make or break the opening sequence because people will either think that it does not work well or make sense or people will enjoy it. The idea of getting peoples opinion on this now helps myself to include what they would rather see, than what I would rather be doing. The two popular choice's were flashbacks and day to day life. By having these two it means I could mix the two them together to create an opening sequence of which people would not mind watching.

8. How many characters should be included in the opening sequence?

None

The amount of characters will help when it comes to the planning stage. The main reason for this is because I am then able to create a story line with these and a script if there is any needed. The overall chose was 2 or 4. In my opinion I would prefer to use 2 people as it would not over crowd the scene and more detailed things can be placed in the scene, rather than quickly going from one character to another within seconds.

9. What type of sound should be used?

Ambient Sound
Diegetic
Non Diegetic
All of the above

|
|||||

Sound takes on a big role when it comes to trying to create an opening. The reason for this is because it helps go in favour of what type of genre you are trying to create. Imagine 'Jaws' without the intro music by John Williams. It can either make or break the whole view. The category that people preferred was all of the above, which means trying to include each one at some point or another. Ambient sound is the type of sound of which is happening in the background, with an example of people outside talking and you can hear the birds tweeting. Diegetic and Non diegetic sound is the opposite of one another as one is added at the editing stage of which is sound effects and music and the other is the dialogue.

10. Which title works better?

Revealed
Truth
||||
||||||

The final question gave me the information of which title people would like. The ones I gave were very simple, but could raise a lot of questions. The one which people did prefer was 'Truth', which may suggest that people like the idea of mystery and something that they can not easily guess what may happen next.
