Storyboard:

  •  Looking at the first scenes that have been included on the story board you can see that these images are seen to be the set up of the location and allows the audience to first see the characters that are being included.
  • The first shot that I am going to be including in the opening sequence will be a production company of some sort. This will allow the audience to have the knowledge of who created the film. The reason for doing this is because of the idea that many companies have this at the beginning of the film due to the idea that this is commonly a way that people are able to find other films that they might enjoy if they liked the film that they just watched.
  • The first official clip will include an overview of the house to allow the audience to see a view of the location and will be a shot to show the significance of the house.
  • The next shot is for the purpose of introducing the character. The character that maybe portrayed in this scene is the older character of the women to allow her to get seen and show the idea that the location of the room may also link to the overview of the house.
  • Adding on to this the shots that are being included are also used to show the way that the womans character has been acting since the incident. This will try to instil the sense that this occurred to her in the past. The past shots slowly creep in to the shots, however the first set of clips are commonly including the older women.
  • The next set of shots are the shots that slowly introduce the two other characters.
  • One of the characters that gets introduced at this moment in these scenes is the younger girl. The younger girl is the character that is meant to be representing the older women as a teen. To show the life events that have affected her and why she is in the state she is in at the beginning of the opening sequence.
  • Another character that has there first appearance in the scenes is the only male character that is being incorporated in the opening of the thriller.  The male character is being used as the person that is going to kidnap the younger character in the flashbacks.
  • Advancing on the ideas for the male character is that the identity of him will be kept secret. The idea that the male characters identity will be a mystery is because of the idea that this will keep the audience interested to find out what he actually looks like, and will raise questions that they may want answering.

  • When including the different titles that are going to be seen throughout they are going to probably be placed in the bottom corner. They will be alternately placed between each corner as this will not draw too much attention to them but will still mean that they are visible for the audience to take notice of them as they pass through the opening sequence.
  • In these sets of scenes the audience gets to see more about what is taking place in the flashbacks and it will show the younger girl trapped in the boot of the car. This is revealing the dramatic things that happened in the women's life without actually showing what happened next or the idea of why he took her.

  • These shots are the last ones that are going to be included in the opening sequence. They are the ones that are built up of mainly flashbacks.
  • The last clip before the title appears is going to be the back of the guy whom is kidnapping the teen character. This may transition from the door slamming of the car to the title appearing
  • When thinking about the final title it is going to be a very bold, basic font that will stand out on a black background. The reason for the font to be like this is so that when the audience see it, it will stand out and will be a title that can easily be remembered.
  • The clips at this point are going to be ending with a few flashbacks which are different to the pattern of the rest of the clips that have been included because it has been a flashback then a the normal time and then another flashback. The reason for doing this is because there is no more shots that I wanted to add of the older woman character. Due to the idea that I think it may get very repetitive for the audience and may get very boring and 'same old, same old' for them when watching the opening sequence.
